Who is responsible

What we collect and why

• Your email address and language (English or Danish), so we can send you the newsletter you asked for.
• Your subscription status (subscribed or unsubscribed) and when it changed, so we only email people who want it.

The legal basis is your consent (GDPR article 6(1)(a)). We use double opt-in: you are only added to the list after you click the link in the confirmation email. If you never confirm, you are not added.

Anonymous visit statistics

To learn which issues are useful, the website counts visits. When you leave a page, your browser sends: the page address, its language, where the visit came from as a broad category (our email, a forwarded email or a shared link, our posts on Bluesky or Threads, a search engine, other social media, another site or direct), how long the page was actually open and in view, how far you scrolled, and the date.

We do not use cookies or store anything in your browser for this, and we do not save your IP address, your device, browser or the time of day. A visit therefore cannot be linked to you or to other visits, which is why we count visits, not visitors. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is sent. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the newsletter (GDPR article 6(1)(f)). The counts are stored with Cloudflare in the EU.

Who processes the data

• Resend sends the emails and stores the subscriber list.
• Cloudflare runs the small service that receives your sign-up and confirmation, stores the anonymous visit statistics (in the EU), provides the domain's DNS and forwards email sent to privacy@7amai.com.
• GitHub Pages hosts this website and may log technical data such as IP addresses.
• Google Fonts delivers the fonts on this website, which means your browser contacts Google.

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or share your email address with anyone else.
• We have not enabled open tracking or click tracking in our emails. Links to the website end in ?ref=mail, so the visit statistics can count how many visits in total come from the email, never who clicked. Links in our posts on Bluesky and Threads end in ?ref=bluesky or ?ref=threads for the same reason. The sign-up link for readers who got the email forwarded ends in ?ref=forward, and links made with the Share button end in ?ref=share, so we can count visits from forwarded emails and shared links, never who forwarded or shared them. The website removes the tag from the address bar as soon as the page opens.
• We do not use your data to train AI models. The newsletter is written with AI, but your email address is never sent to an AI service.
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, you stop receiving emails right away. If you also want your address deleted entirely, email privacy@7amai.com and we will delete it within 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and you can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet).
